Why she might be annoying:

She would do anything for political power, including cheating, lying and murder.
She went back and forth between support of the Catholics and Huguenots, at times conspiring with both groups against the other.
She was part of the planning of the St. Bartholomew’s Day massacre, where hundreds of Protestants and the Huguenot leader Gaspard de Coligny were murdered.
She was indifferent to her many children, except where they could provide her with power.
She was domineering over her three sons who became King of France.
She banned thick waists at court, forcing women into corsets which became the fashion for the next 350 years.

Why she might not be annoying:

Her parents both died when she was a few months old.
Her uncle Pope Clement VII arranged her marriage at 14, to the Duke of Orleans.
Her husband, King Henry II of France had a mistress through their entire marriage.
Before the death of her husband, she was apparently quite mild mannered, saving her blood thirsty lust for power until after his death.
She was hated by the French.
She loved art, and architecture.
She was one of the most well educated women of her time.
