    Appeared in 'The Bubble' (1966), 'Beg, Borrow or Steal' (1973), 'Stephen King's It' (1990) and 'Mr. Brooks' (2007)
    His first reaction to being offered a role in The Mod Squad was 'I'm not going to take the part of a guy who finks on his friends!'
    Some of his responses during interviews in The Mod Squad days were unintelligibly hip: 'Like, man, I'm trying to do the understanding thing. A last attempt, man, to get it on, the whole number, to make it love for everyone.'
    He has been married three times and divorced twice.
    He became the first person to say 'shit' on Australian TV, during a drunken acceptance speech at the Logie Awards (1973).
    Producer Aaron Spelling's response to his rants was, 'That's exactly what I want. Exactly what I'm looking for in Pete Cochran.'
    He went through the Betty Ford Clinic to overcome his drinking problem.
    He said of the success of The Mod Squad, 'The real love between Clarence and Peggy and I is what was attractive to people.'
