Why they might be annoying
They took their name from a children's book.
For their first two years, they appeared only on singles and compilation albums.
They were supposed to play three shows at PNC Park after Pittsburgh Pirates games, but got booed the first night and cancelled the other two (2006).
They wear matching outfits in concert, most often Hawaiian shirts, but have also worn pajamas, red suits, fezzes and cheerleader outfits.
Why they might not be annoying
They frequently interpolate punk classics into their pop covers, such as working 'London Calling' by the Clash into the Turtles' 'Eleanor.'
Their album 'Ruin Jonny's Bar Mitzvah' was recorded live at an actual bar mitzvah.
Their version of Michael Nesmith's 'Different Drum' was included in the film 'Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.'
Chris Shiflett said, 'The other bands are there for our creative intellect. We just like to kick back and have fun with Me First.'
