Why he might be annoying:

    He was fired from the Times of London for fabricating a quote for an article.
    As a columnist for the Daily Telegraph, he regularly repeated 'Euromyths' (such as the claim that the European Union was planning to ban English sausages), with one MP calling him 'one of the greatest exponents of fake journalism.'
    In a column about Africans, he referred to their 'watermelon smiles.' (2002)
    He was expelled from the shadow cabinet after he was proven to have been lying when he denied having an extramarital affair with Spectator columnist Petronella Wyatt (2000).
    He fathered a daughter out of wedlock with arts consultant Helen McIntyre (2009).
    When Barack Obama opined that Britain should remain in the European Union, he responded that Obama's views were shaped by 'an ancestral dislike' of Britain due to being 'part-Kenyan.' (2016)
    The Economist called him 'a demagogue, not a statesman... the most irresponsible politician the country has seen in many years.'
    The day he became Prime Minister, six cabinet members resigned in protest.

    He has called himself a 'one-man melting pot,' noting that he has Muslim, Jeiwsh, and Christian great-grandparents.
    He is fluent in French and Italian, and has a working grasp of Spanish and German.
    He was elected President of the Oxford Union (1986).
    He was cycling by when documentary filmmaker Franny Alexander was being threatened by three teens wielding an iron bar. He chased off the attackers and escorted Armstrong home (November 2, 2009).
    He called Vladimir Putin 'a ruthless and manipulative tyrant' who 'looks a bit like Doby the House Elf.'
    Private Eye quipped, 'He is the only feel-good politician we have. Everyone else is too busy being responsible.'
