    My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance
    Aired on Fox January 18-February 26, 2004

The show filmed within two weeks
Randi and Steve pretend they met on a reality show, fell madly in love and are marrying just days after meeting.
They must convince their family and friends, that although a mismatched couple, they are getting married.
If they convince their entire immediate family to attend the wedding, not object or walk out, Randi, Steve, Randi's Family and Steve's family would each get $250,000.
Unbeknownst to Randi that Steve Williams is actor Steve Bailey and his family are also actors who are merely there to sabotage the plan.
It never occurs to her that if Steve has financial interests, why he would not conform to make the wedding go smoothly but in fact does everything to alienated her family.
Being a first grade teacher, it would seem that she would have better control over the immature Steve.
Her family kept reminding her how important marriage is, yet no one said, 'this is so important, turn the fucking cameras off.'
Although marriage is a serious step, there is always annulment and divorce.
After putting her family through all this angst, she got them to attend the wedding ceremony, no one objected and she said 'I do.' All that was needed was for Steve to say 'I do' for the money. Steve said he could not do it, which meant the entire thing was all for naught and no one would get the money she worked so hard for. She did not even get mildly upset.
She resented being part of the joke although she was willing to play the prank on her family.
She said it was not about the money (bull shit!).
The show brought out the worst of high school stereotypes, the beautiful in-crowd cheerleader and the fat nerdy guy.
She is seen mostly crying, although she says she rarely cries.
She co-hosted 'Fox's Good Day Live' and barely spoke a word (February 25, 2004).
Her boss, Principal Langley said about the show's premise of marrying a stranger for money: 'There's a certain set of values at a Catholic school. Certainly we have a moral obligation under our faith to make a judgment call.'
She was granted an extended leave from teaching for the Thanksgiving holiday. She was given until January 16th to return. She waited until, January 21st, and instead of returning she quit, leaving her 35 students without their original teacher.
She retired from her teaching career after two months.
It was a top ten show during the February 2004 sweeps period.
She didn't just win $250,000 for herself and $250,000 for her family but it was doubled to $500,000 each.
She takes pride in the closeness of her family.
She looks like a cross between Heather Locklear and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
