Why she might be annoying:

    Jim's nickname for her is 'Racoon.' (Her explanation: 'Dark circles, little hands, love to eat, you know that kind.')
    She suffered phobias about driving and flying.
    She called National Rifle Association headquarters and said, 'My name is Sarah Brady and you've never heard of me, but I am going to make it my life's work to try to put you out of business.'
    She was accused of exploiting tragedies, such as Columbine and the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords, to push for gun control.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She noted, 'My father was an FBI agent and I'd grown up with a gun in the house.'
    She received a National Hero Award from Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America and a Mother of the Year Award from the National Mother's Day Committee (1991).
    She survived lung cancer.
    She said, 'The gun lobby finds waiting periods inconvenient. You have only to ask my husband how inconvenient he finds his wheelchair from time to time.'
