    Due to controversy in his personal life he was forced from office.
    He resigned after a disagreement with Winston Churchill, concerning use of naval forces in Dardanelles against Turkey.
    He refused to reconsider his resignation despite a plea from Winston Churchill, ending his remarkable career.
