Why they might be annoying:

Care to guess to what – or whom – the band name refers?
Gee, how original… Volumes One, Two, and Three. (Must have been pretty damn sure of themselves to do that!)
It surprised Him greatly to learn She had written some songs but hadn’t done much with them.
You cannot expect a Deschanel to perform without being a bit quirky (as her sister can probably attest).

Why they might not be annoying:

They met on the set of ‘The Go-Getter,’ in which she had a lead role (their first public appearance was at a Sundance screening, for which they recorded the song that closed the film).
They bonded over a love of records produced by Phil Spector.
Asked what reminded them of Canada, she answered, ‘Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Smarties.’ He answered, ‘Banff.’
The cover of their Christmas release, ‘A Very She & Him Christmas,’ is a throwback to the album covers of the emerging rock n’ roll era.
In addition to single-handedly writing most of their original works, Deschanel herself directed the video shoot for ‘I Could Have Been Your Girl.’
