Born in Rainy River, Ontario, Canada
Birth name was Bronislau Nagurski
Running back/offensive tackle/defensive lineman for the Chicago Bears (1930-37,1943)

Why he might be annoying
He played a game wearing a corset under his uniform. (Granted, it was to protect his injured back, but still: A corset?)
When Bears owner George Halas refused to increase his salary, he quit football and became a pro wrestler.
He later dismissed wrestling as 'degrading' and 'foolish.'
After retiring from wrestling, he became increasingly reclusive, saying 'I want people to remember me the way I was and not the way I am.'
Why he might not be annoying
He was named an All-American at both tackle and fullback the same year (1929).
He was the only NFL player named All-Pro at three positions: defensive lineman, offensive lineman and running back.
University of Minnesota coach Clarence Spears said, 'That boy could've been an all-American at all eleven positions.'
New York Giants coach Steve Owen said, 'Defend him? There's only one way to defend him: shoot him before he leaves the dressing room.'
He was married to Eileen Kane for 53 years until his death.
