Why San Dimas, California might be annoying:

While Gabrielino Indians were thought to inhabit the area (circa 1000 BC), other tribes were confirmed as having lived there a few millennia earlier.
The name was inspired by a local legend involving a Hispanic Californian (Californio) councilman whose horses were run off by natives, praying to the patron saint of thieves.
It gained prominence through the Bill & Ted brand.
Soccer player Alex Morgan was born here.
For an area that experiences ‘hot and dry summers,’ 71,6 F (22 C) is not an average temperature to sneeze at.
You’ll probably learn more about the location by going to official websites about Los Angeles resources (one of which referred to its earlier name as Mud Springs).

Why San Dimas, California might not be annoying:

The councilman – one ‘Don’ Ygnacio Palomares – was one of the original runners of the Rancho San Jose, as part of a Mexican land grant.
Completed in 1887, the Santa Fe Railroad would operate a rail line through the area.
Before its incorporation as a city, the orange and citrus crops – from which the Sunkist name originated (as Sunkissed) – were its major business.
Adam Wylie (of Picket Fences) was born here.
Before its relocation to a more central part of the state, it was the site of the Miss Rodeo California State Pageant. (It has retained its equestrian reputation since.)
As one of the younger American cities – and one that has remained populated in the 30,000s for more than two decades – it has retained its small-town air.
