The Resume

    (June 14, 1923-May 22, 2019)
    Born in Berlin, Germany
Birth name is Anna Judith Gertrud Helene Kerr
Author of 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea' (1968)
Wrote the 'Mog' book series, which included 'Mog the Forgetful Cat' (1970), 'Goodbye, Mog' (2002), and 'Mog's Christmas Calamity' (2015)
Other works include 'When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit' (1971), 'Bombs on Aunt Dainty' (1975), and 'A Small Person Far Away' (1978)

Why she might be annoying:

She liked painting portraits of insects.
She claimed she was inspired to write 'Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit' after she took her eight year-old son to see The Sound of Music and he cried out 'now we know what it was like when Mommy was a little girl!'
She denied writing 'Tiger Who Came to Tea' as an allegory for the rise of Nazism, claiming that it was 'just about a tiger' (but the story's unexpectly dark turn at the end makes this hard to believe).

Why she might not be annoying:

She emigrated to Britain with her family after the Nazis rose to power.
She worked for the Red Cross helping to tend wounded soldiers during World War II.
Her books helped to make the concept of Nazi Germany and the Holocaust understandable to a children.
As an animatronics designer, she worked for Jim Henson's Creature Shop and later on Lost in Space and the first four 'Harry Potter' films.
She was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in recognition of her services to children's literature and Holocaust education (2012).
