    The Russian government compares him to Hitler.
    He’s fluent in Georgian, English, French, Russian, and Ukrainian, and can speak some Spanish and Ossetian.
    He received a diploma from the International Institute of Human Rights in Strasbourg (1995).
    He protested against the massive corruption found in his predecessor’s government.
    His presidency has witnessed economic growth, political reform, and a crackdown on corruption in Georgia.
    He forged strong ties with the United States and European Union.
    He retains friendly relations with his predecessor, who resigned because of the Rose Revolution.
