Religious Figure
According to the Gospels, donated his tomb for Jesus Christ's burial after the Crucifixion
In some legends, was uncle of the Virgin Mary
According to British traditions, introduced Christianity to Britain and was first guardian of the Holy Grail
Patron saint of pall bearers and undertakers
    Feast day is March 17
He is a very distant second to St. Patrick for the title of 'most popular saint whose feast day is March 17.'
Biblical scholars are not sure where exactly Arimathea was.
The stories about him bringing Christianity (and the Grail) to Britain were first recorded eight centuries after his death.
Unlike that other saint he shares March 17 with, he does not inspire people to drink until they puke or dye unlikely foodstuffs green.
The tradition that he and a young Jesus visited England inspired William Blake's poem 'Jerusalem.'
If he had not brought the Grail to England, we never would have had 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail.'
