Why he might be annoying:

Before becoming Christian, he was a sun worshipper.
He had a dream that Christ appeared before him and told him to inscribe XP on the shields of his soldiers, which he believed allowed him to be the victor against his rival, Maxentius, in a battle near Rome (312).
He built the 'Arch of Constantine' to commemorate his own victory over Maxentius which allowed him to become the absolute monarch of the Roman Empire (315).
His conversion to Christianity started what would become the biggest state-supported religion in Europe.

Why he might not be annoying:

He and his co-emperor issued the Edict of Milan, which finally allowed for toleration of Christians within the Roman Empire (313).
He was a skilled statesman and a superb general.
He separated civil and military authority.
He gave back the powers the Senate had lost in the 3rd century.
He is responsible for reorganizing the Roman state and allowed the spread of a monotheist religion by the end of the 4th century.
He is no doubt one of the greatest leaders of ancient history.
