    He was nominated for Oscars for his performances in 'The Love Parade (1929)' and 'The Big Pond (1930).'
    He received an honorary Oscar in 1959.
    He has a star on the walk of fame.
    His songs, 'Isn't it Romantic?' in 'Love Me Tonight (1932),' and 'Thank Heaven For Little Girls' in 'Gigi (1958)' made AFI's list of the greatest movie songs of all time.
    He died from cardiac arrest after surgery for a kidney problem.
