Figure Skater
    (June 24, 1945-April 5, 1996)
    Born in Dusseldorf, Germany
    Ice skater and painter
Represented Dusseldorfer EG at the German Figure Skating Championships (1965)
    Dated Jimi Hendrix
Married Uli Jon Roth of the Scorpions
Committed suicide by carbon monoxide inhalation
She is better known for being the last person to see Jimi Hendrix alive than for her skating. Or her painting.
She seemed to change her account of Jimi’s death every time she talked about it.
She called three people for advice before calling for an ambulance.
She claimed to have ridden in the ambulance with a still-breathing Hendrix, but the ambulance attendants said that Hendrix was dead when they arrived and no one rode with him to the hospital.
She said she had a letter from Jimi proving her claim that they were engaged at the time of his death, but refused to show it to anyone, saying it was ‘too personal.’
She lost a libel suit after calling fellow Hendrix girlfriend Kathy Etchingham someone who would ‘cheat or lie for money.’
’The Independent’ described her appearance shortly before her death as ‘a grotesque superannuated hippie chick.’
She had to put up with people blaming her for Hendrix’s death – and not just in a ‘Why didn’t you call an ambulance sooner?’ way, but also conspiracy theorists claiming she poisoned him at the behest of Jimi’s corrupt manager. Or British intelligence. Or…
A poem she wrote about Hendrix, ‘We’ll Burn the Sky,’ was set to music by Rudolf Schenker and recorded by the Scorpions.
She painted the covers for the three albums by Roth’s post-Scorpions band Electric Sun.
