    Wrote the lyrics for several songs including the theme song for the popular children's educational television series 'Sesame Street'
    Other credits include 'Three's Company,' 'The Ropers,' and 'Electric Company'
    He was an addict to sweet foods.
    He was divorced.
    Nepotism for Jim Henson was evident in the fact that he did work on many of his shows that either involved 'The Muppets' or 'Sesame Street.'
    He died three days shy of his 52nd birthday.
    His parents were Portuguese immigrants.
    He wrote the scores for several Hasty Pudding shows while attending Harvard.
    One of his influences was bandleader Spike Jones.
    Much of his music was praised as dynamic and versatile in style.
    Frank Sinatra recorded four of his songs on the comeback album 'Ol' Blues Eyes Is Back.' (1973)
    In addition to penning Sesame Street's theme song, he also wrote the lyrics to 'Being Green' and 'C is for Cookie,' two songs that were prominently featured in the series.
    He was nominated for an Oscar in 1982 for writing the song 'The First Time It Happens' from the film 'The Great Muppet Caper.'
