Why Joanie Loves Chachi might be annoying:

As Henry Rollins said in I Love the 80s, 'You don't build a TV show around Chachi.'
Whoever came up with the premise failed to notice that the stars -- especially Baio -- cannot sing.
Adding to the problem, Joanie and Chachi perform a musical number each episode, plus the theme song.
It was slaughtered in the ratings by The A-Team in its second and last season.
Its stars were allowed to slink back to 'Happy Days' after the show was cancelled.

Why Joanie Loves Chachi might not be annoying:

It had decent ratings its first year with 'Happy Days' as a lead-in.
It won a TV Land Award for 'Favorite Teen Dream' for Chachi (2004).
According to an urban legend, it became the most popular show in the history of Korean television because 'chachi' is Korean for 'penis.'
Although not true (the show never aired on Korean TV), the rumor does have a kernel of truth: 'chachi' does actually sound like a Korean slang word for 'penis.'
