    Les Paul picked her stage moniker out of a telephone directory because he considered her real name too long.
    When she broke up with him in the mid-60s, she opted for retirement while he continued his guitar work in other areas.
    She spent nearly eight weeks in a coma before dying.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She was among the earliest multi-tracking vocal performers on record.
    Under her real name, she sang with her own family on radio in the 1940s.
    She was a backup vocalist for Gene Autry.
