Why he might be annoying
He got cast in bit parts in Dragnet because star/producer Jack Webb owed him money from a card game.
He initially turned down 'Adam-12' to appear in the Broadway play 'The Ninety Day Mistress,' but the play flopped.
He and 'Adam-12' co-star Kent McCord re-teamed for the short-lived Nashville Network show 'Nashville Beat' (1989).
Why he might not be annoying
His acting career was interrupted by a bout with polio (1948) and a stint in the Army (1952-54).
While serving at Fort Ord, he encouraged the base's swimming instructor, Clint Eastwood, to take up acting.
He was married to Judith Jones for over 50 years.
