Recorded the singles ‘Obsession’ (1985) and ‘Room to Move’ (1989)

Why they might be annoying:

They released two different eponymous albums (in 1985 and 1989).
They are often called one-hit wonders even though both ‘Obsession’ and ‘Room to Move’ were top 10 hits.
Although Wadhams and his replacement Engemann were both songwriters, their two big hits were cover songs.
Wadhams’ reaction on hearing ‘Obsession,’ ‘They say it could be a hit for us, and I’m not even singing. I’m speaking.’
The video for ‘Obsession’ was named one of the ten worst of the year by the Los Angeles Times, which described it as ‘the ultimate homage to Spinal Tap.’

Why they might not be annoying:

Before joining Animotion, Rhodes had a successful acting career, appearing in ‘Staying Alive’ and ‘Dirty Dancing.’
A critic described ‘Obsession’ as defining ‘the glorious bombast that was the ‘80s.’
‘Obsession’ appeared in the films ‘Hot Tub Time Machine,’ ‘Dallas Buyers Club,’ and ‘Adventureland.’
Their version of ‘Obsession’ – unlike the original by Michael Des Barres and Holly Knight – did not appear in the film ‘A Night in Heaven’ as Christopher Atkins did a bump and grind.
