Before being elected to Congress, he was the Field Director for the National Rainbow Coalition.
While running for re-election in 2002, he claimed that Democrats placed a candidate named Jesse L. Jackson on the ballot to confuse voters and sabotage his candidacy.
That candidate withdrew his candidacy after his wife and grandson passed away weeks later.
Even though he is a Democrat, he supports the Right To Life foundation.
He looks like LeVar Burton.

He's not as outrageous as his father.
He has been serving his post for over ten years, and does not plan to leave his job for other opportunities.
He doesn't get as much attention as Barack Obama or Harold Ford.
He lost 50 pounds to gastric bypass surgery.
