Baseball Player

The Resume

    (December 10, 1990- )
    Born in Thomasville, North Carolina
Drafted 91st overall by the Kansas City Royals in the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft
Outfielder for the Tampa Bay Rays (2013-14) and the San Diego Padres
American League Rookie of the Year (2013)

Why he might be annoying:

    He is extremely religious.
Some baseball pundits felt his Rookie of the Year Award winning was unjustified as he didn't join the team until their 70th game of the season.
He was part of what is now considered one of the more lopsided trades in the 2010's, as he was traded for both James Shields and Wade Davis.
He was traded to the Padres in a cost-cutting move.
His struggle to stay off the disabled list played a key factor in the Rays decision to trade him.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was the second player in Rays history, behind Evan Longoria to earn AL Rookie of the Year honors.
He was an integral part of the Rays offense in their push for a playoff spot.
He became teammates with James Shields, three years after they were traded for each other.
He was a pitcher in high school before opting to play the outfield.
He rejuvenated his career with the Padres, and is considered one of the cornerstones in the rebuilding process.
