Actor

The Resume

    (December 2, 1955- )
    Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
    Birth name is Dennis Carrelli
Acted in 'Breaking Away,' 'Fade to Black,' 'Chariots of Fire,' 'Don't Cry, Its Only Thunder,' and 'Django Unchained'

Why he might be annoying:

He considers his worst project to be 'Dead Women in Lingerie.'
He has played Paul Dooley's son three times.
He liked to joke about deciding to backpack across Europe because 'the only thing I ever wanted to be, besides an actor, was a hippie.'
He got his first movie acting job after chasing 'a beautiful barefoot Italian girl' onto the set of a Fellini movie (which he was later cast in as - appropriately - a hippie).
For most of his career (pre-Django), he was known only as the Italo-centric wannabe biker from 'Breaking Away.'
He received critical acclaim for 'Breaking Away' but if failed to translate into overnight stardom; at best he was lucky to score a supporting role in an A-list film like 'Chariots of Fire.'
He made for a very bewildered Jack in Shelley Duvall's 'Beanstalk' episode of Faerie Tale Theatre, probably wondering who the hell's idea it was to add a drag queen to the story.

Why he might not be annoying:

He made his acting debut at the age of 12.
He was listed as one of Screen World's 12 'Most Promising New Actors' (1979).
He won the BAFTA Award for Most Promising Newcomer for 'Breaking Away.'
He received a Golden Globe nomination for 'New Star of the Year' for 'Breaking Away' (1980).
He won the Youth in Film Award for Best Juvenile Actor in a Motion Picture for 'Breaking Away.'
He attained a cult following after portraying a film-obsessed queer killer in 1980's 'Fade to Black.'
Despite a decades-long hiatus from Hollywood films, he was Quentin Tarantino's first choice to play Leonide Moguy in 'Django' (who was a huge fan of Christopher - having seen every one of the actor's films -- even 'Dead Women in Lingerie').
He initially turned the part down because he deemed the character to be 'too young.' When Tarantino learned of this, he had the part rewritten to better fit his profile.
