The Resume
(circa 2008- )
Born in United States
Far-right-wing movement involved in the 2016 Presidential election cycle
Notable Alt-Right figures include Stephen Bannon, Richard Spencer and Milo Yiannopoulos
Why they might be annoying
They're like an even more radicalized version of the Tea Party (as if that was even possible!)
They are so radicalized that some Tea Partiers are trying to distance themselves from the movement and claim that it isn't truly conservative.
Much of their origin is based in the politics forum on 4chan.
They are widely disliked by Liberals and even many moderate and establishment Republicans.
Many Alt-Right members are openly racist, misogynistic, homophobic, Islamophobic and xenophobic.
They helped create the notion that any news source that isn't Fox News, Michael Savage or the Breitbart website should be considered 'fake news'.
They used memetic comic character Pepe the Frog as their mascot (much to the dismay of Pepe's creator Matt Furie, who killed off the character in his comic in response).
Why they might not be annoying
They are a grassroots movement.
They are for free speech and against political correctness.
They stand up for what they believe in.
