TV Series
They started with four tribes, initially divided according to age and gender.
Though the original tribes had names, they were referred to only as 'older men,' 'younger women,' 'older women,' and 'younger men.'
At 32 years old, Melinda was an 'older woman,' but at the same age, Bobby was a 'younger man.'
After only one episode, they contracted the tribes down to two and completely reshuffled their members through a draft.
The first four to be eliminated were all women.
They started regularly exiling castaways to a separate island in this cycle.
They had to put up with Shane's insanity.
When the merged tribe was given the option of playing for individual immunity or feasting on cheeseburgers, all of the old La Minas sat out and ate, except Aras, while the last two old Casayas, Sally and Terry, participated.
Even though Terry found the hidden Immunity Idol, he won the first five individual immunity challenges, as well.
The hidden Idol never got played.
It helped Cirie get off the couch and do something to make her happy.
Since the hidden Immunity Idol expired after the Final Four, Terry had to win the final immunity challenge to stay immune, but despite his earlier dominance, he lost this challenge, and was then voted off.
If the hidden Immunity Idol had been played, it would have returned to Exile Island for someone else to find, and use. This differs from the previous cycle, where the Idol was discarded after use.
It featured some of the most interesting and likeable castaways of any cycle.
All four of the original tribes were represented in the Final Four.
