    Full name: Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett
    Irish author most well known for his fantasy writings
    Wrote Gods of Pegana, The Book of Wonder, A Dreamer's Tales, The King of Elflands Daughter, and the Jorkens stories
    He was 'royalty' with the official title of Baron.
    He was an animal rights activist.
    He would sit on an old hat while writing.
    His novel Don Rodriguez was a ripoff of Don Quixote.
    He wrote three autobiographies.
    He had a huge influence on H. P. Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard, Michael Moorcock and Peter S. Beagle among many others.
    He had an excellent education at Cheam, Eton and Sandhurst.
    He was veteran of the Second Boer War and WWI and served as a rescue worker during German bomber raids during WWII.
    He was incredibly prolific, writing over a dozen novels, hundreds of short stories (including over 150 of Jorkens stories) innumerable plays and ,though best known today for his fantasy writings, was best known in life for his poetry.
    He lived in the oldest continuously inhabited (820 years) home in Ireland, Dunsany Castle.
