Vocalist

The Resume

    (November 10, 1947- )
    Born in Mountain City, Tennessee
Recorded the single 'Please Come to Boston' (1974)
Dueted with Anne Murray on the single 'Nobody Loves Me Like You Do' (1984)
    Second cousin of Kenny Loggins

Why he might be annoying:

He sold insurance before his music career took off.
'Please Come to Boston' was his only Top 40 hit.
Capitol Records was reluctant to pair him up with Murray, as they wanted a duet partner with 'marquee value.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He wrote #1 country hits for Kenny Rogers ('Morning Desire'), Juice Newton ('You Make Me Want to Make You Mine'), Alabama ('Roll On'), and the Oak Ridge Boys ('Everyday').
'Nobody Loves Me Like You Do' hit #1 on the country chart and won the CMA Award for Vocal Duo of the Year, making him the only winner of a CMA vocal award who was not signed to a record label.
He composed 'Augusta,' the theme song for TV coverage of the Masters Golf Tournament.
He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame (1995)
