Why he might be annoying:

He looks somewhat like Grady from 'Sanford and Son.'
He dropped out of Southern Illinois University.
He once protested segregation at a restaurant franchise in Atlanta, yet personally owned stock with the chain.
Some of the names he gave to his 10 kids are Miss, Ayanna and Yohance.
He's written conspiracy theory books on the Kennedy and King assassinations.
Some Democrats blamed him when presidential candidate Hubert Humphrey lost to Richard Nixon in 1968 by ½ million votes.
They felt he took votes that would have gone to Humphrey and cost the Democrat the election.
He's fasted in protest over 60 times.
    He's a vegetarian.
He refused chemotherapy to treat his cancer, opting to use alternative medical techniques.
He was evicted from his house (1992).
He traveled in Air Force One with Newt Gingrich as President Clinton told Gingrich he'd have to sit 'in the back of the plane.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He served in the U. S. Army (1954-56).
He's been married to the same woman since 1959.
One of his children died at birth.
He is a personal friend of Hugh Hefner, who gave him his big break in comedy at the Playboy Club in 1961.
He explained to his mother, 'Whenever you hear the word 'Nigger' you’ll know they're advertising my book.'
His style of comedy has been compared to a 'black Mort Sahl' (his friends jokingly call Sahl a 'white Dick Gregory').
He introduced a powdered diet mix that was profitable (1987).
    His cancer is in remission.
He once said to a heckler: 'Why do you heckle me? You want excitement? Go down to the NAACP and ask for the white washroom.'
He escaped death when a huge tree fell on his car in a storm in Washington D.C.
The car was completely crushed, so he had to be extricated by emergency crews (2001).
