His movie, 'The Fly,' made people so sick, that it was a must see movie for people on diets.
His movies are generally dark.
Because of the uniqueness, his movies aren't broadly popular.
He was supposed to direct 'Total Recall,' but it was later taken over by Paul Verhoeven (he even had a rough draft of total recall script, before Paul Verhoeven took over).
Why he might not be annoying
Many of his movies are unique, disturbing and memorable sci-fi horror classics.
His styles of making movies are acclaimed by many critics.
His movies influence many young directors.
He graduated the University of Toronto.
Costumes in his movies are designed by his sister, Denis Cronenberg.
