He made a career playing spoons for people's change.
His first name is Artis, and he is known as Artis the Spoonman, because he keeps his last name secret.
He plays flutes using his nose.
He claims he has stage fright.
He sports a mohawk.
He never held a real job, and frequently runs out of money.
At his shows, he preaches ‘a person can be learned without obtaining a formal college education.'
Why he might not be annoying
He has a cult following.
The song title, ‘Spoonman' was an idea that Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam came up with as a joke. Chris Cornell liked the idea, and turned it into a hit song.
His spoon-playing was featured on the recording of ‘Spoonman.' He was also the focus of the music video.
Soundgarden popularized him enough that he appeared on 'Late Night with David Letterman' and the Bumbershoot Festival.
As a relatively unknown he performed with Jimmy Page, Frank Zappa, and Aerosmith.
He performed through out the United States and Europe.
He is a talented bubble-blower.
