    He voted in favor of the resolution that resulted in the 2003-11 Iraq War.
    Despite calling the establishment of a select committee to investigate the 2012 attack a 'colossal waste of time,' he still joined it in 2014.
    President Trump called him 'sleazy' and 'totally biased 'in regards to his role in the Russian collusion investigation.

    Before politics, he served as a prosecutor for the Los Angeles branch of the US Attorney's Office.
    As California State Senator, he authored legislation that extended light rail service in the Los Angeles metro area.
    He has been a leading voice for campaign finance reform, intelligence and surveillance reform, and Armenian-American civil rights.
    He has participated in various marathons and triathlons many of which were for charitable causes.
    He is well loved by his constituents for his sarcasm and sense of humor.
