Why he might be annoying:

Her claim to fame is falling down a well.
Nobody was supervising her when she fell.
One of her rescuers, Robert O'Donnell, fell apart mentally because of the stress of the rescue and killed himself in 1995.
The many hours of her rescue cost lots of money.
An April Fool's photo of 'Jessica McLain' appeared in Stuff Magazine as a parody of her (notice her feet are intact).

Why he might not be annoying:

Nearly everyone in the world was hoping for her survival for those few days in 1987.
Her situation brought out the best in people, as everyone in the neighborhood pitched in to get her out.
Her parents are divorced.
Her parents foolishly spent $18,000 for the money she was sent.
She had to have part of her foot amputated.
She has had over 15 surgeries since 1987 as result of her fall.
