Baseball Player

The Resume

    (October 11, 1989- )
    Born in Azua, Dominican Republic
    Pitcher
Played for the New York Mets (2010,2012-15)
Signed a minor league contract with the Boston Red Sox (January 29, 2019)

Why he might be annoying:

He would stomp on the pitcher's mound to celebrate getting the last out of the game.
He missed the 2012 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
He tested positive for anabolic steroids three times in less than a year (April 2015-February 2016).
He became the first player to draw a lifetime ban from Major League Baseball for doping (February 12, 2016).
Apparently, 'lifetime' means 'not quite three years' in MLB as he was reinstated in time for spring training for the 2019 season.

Why he might not be annoying:

When he was 11, he supported himself by shining shoes, earning 300 pesos a day.
Darryl Strawberry said he had the potential to be another Mariano Rivera.
During the 2014 season, he earned 28 saves in 31 chances.
When Starlin Castro imitated him by stomping on home plate after hitting a go-ahead home run, Mejia told him he should have stomped more vigorously: 'If you do it, do it for real.'
