He is a one hit wonder.
He is shy, but feels at ease while performing.
When he started his singing career he also cleaned up the clubs after his performances.
    He's been married three times.
He was managing the career of singer wife Gwen McCrae, yet had his own hit single a year before her breakout hit 'Rockin' Chair' (they divorced in 1976).
He served in the U.S. Navy.
When K.C. wrote 'Rock Your Baby' in 1974 he couldn't get his voice high enough to match the melody, so he offered it to McCrae.
'Rock Your Baby' was an international smash, went to #1 in over 50 countries, sold over 11 million copies and helped start the '70s disco boom.
He was mistaken for actor/singer Gordon MacRae as having died of cancer in 1986, stating, 'I'm still dead in some reference books.'
Years after he was forgotten in the U.S he remained popular in Europe and emigrated, giving up menial jobs to pursue his singing career.
