The Resume

Resides in East Alabama (formerly Roanoke)
    Twitter-handle was Princess_Breanna (@princessbmm)
Posted an image of herself at the Auschwitz concentration camp during a visit to Poland shortly after graduating High School (June, 2014)
Captioned the image on Twitter with the message, 'Selfie in the Auschwitz Concentration Camp' along with a blushing smile emoji
Photo was re-tweeted over 3,000 times on Twitter and throughout social media
Set off an international outcry as to the appropriateness of taking a selfie at perhaps the largest Holocaust memorial sites
Dubbed with the nickname #AuschwitzSelfieGirl by social media users
Broke her silence to Meghan McCain on Take Part Live, claiming to have no regrets about taking the selfie (July 21, 2014)

Why she might be annoying:

She claimed that the Holocaust was 'the only thing in history' to interest her, as a student. (Morbid curiosity?)
Her Twitter page is periodically inundated with complaints from high school kids who claim that their teachers keep inserting her into their WWII lesson.
The outrage was the culmination of years' worth of complaints about click-happy teens who take 'tragedy selfies.'
Many couldn't understand how she could find it in herself to beam so pleasantly at a site where millions of innocent people were systematically murdered.
Among the more tame tweets sent to her were those asking if she 'got any photos of herself laughing in the gas chambers ' or 'dancing on the train-tracks.'
The bigger issue with many seemed to be that, while the selfie was inappropriate, she didn't seem particularly sorry or embarrassed about it, either.
This was evinced when she shared a 'Business Insider' piece condemning her actions, on Twitter, captioning it with 'I'm Famous Y'all!' (later tweeting 'over 150 retweets. Turnnn upppp')
In fact, she seemed downright giddy about the unexpected attention she was receiving; going so far as to tweet an excited image of herself in front of a television, depicting Chelsea Handler discussing her infamous selfie on E!
The image gone viral was photo-shopped mercilessly, usually being superimposed in the forefront of iconic images of tragic events (World Trade Center terror attacks, black men being lynched, Third World country bombings, etc.)
As the photo continued to gain traction, she expressed some regret, although still not apologizing, tweeting 'omg I wish people would quit tweeting to, quoting, retweeting, and favoriting my picture of my smiling in Auschwitz Concentration Camp. Like apparently is such a big deal that I smiled. Good Lord.'

Why she might not be annoying:

She refused to let cyberbullying bring her down.
She had been promised the trip by her parents as a high school graduation present.
She had lost her father a year prior to making the trip (she credited him with teaching her about the Holocaust).
She claimed to have expected to feel sad when she went to the camp, but instead felt that her father's spirit was with her, motivating her to take a selfie to reflect her feelings.
Although unwise, her selfie wasn't nearly as offensive as other 'tragedy selfies' that gained national attention (or, comparably, less attenion).
This includes NBA star, Danny Green, taking a selfie at the Berlin Holocaust Memorial with the lovely caption 'you know I had to do it one time lol #holocaust.'
The image reportedly sat on her social media feed for close to a month before gaining serious traction (she woke up to find her account flooded with messages).
She received death threats and death wishes just for posting the image.
The threats weren't so much what bothered her, but she was extremely upset over one user who asked how she would like it if he smiled at her father's grave.
At the height of the outrage, she dryly tweeted 'over 2000 retweets on a pic that wasn't supposed to get this much attention.'
At least she didn't sign the guest book of the most famous Holocaust victim's hiding place and venture to suggest that, had she survived, she would have been a Belieber groupie.
And, at least she didn't disrespect the memory of a major world leader by merrily taking a group selfie at his funeral service.
