    She escaped from an abusive relationship. (‘You wouldn’t believe it, but I used to be a doormat.’)
    She suffered burns in a kitchen fire (December, 2015).
    She said of the success of her first solo album, ‘It's very validating to get something like this when you've literally risked everything you own.’
