TV Game Show Contestant

The Resume

    (1975-2016)
    Resided in Austin, Texas
Worked as a science content developer
    Contestant on Jeopardy!
Began taping on August 31, 2016
Died of colon cancer on December 5, 2016, eight days before her Jeopardy! premiere was set to air
Left her Jeopardy! earnings to charities dedicated to fighting cancer

Why she might be annoying:

Like Mr. Rogers, she enjoyed wearing cardigans on television.
Her podium nameplate on Jeopardy! always read "Cindy!"
How many people out there know what a science content developer is?
Let's be honest. If it weren't for her illness, her gap-toothed smile and meek personality would have been difficult to watch on a quiz show.
While on a cruise ship, she once mooned the nation of France.

Why she might not be annoying:

She earned a PhD in chemical engineering.
    She played rugby in college.
It was her lifelong dream to go on Jeopardy!, but when she finally got a chance to audition, that's when the doctors gave her the bad news.
At her audition, she told producers, as well as Alex Trebek, of her condition, informing them that doctors had given her six months to live.
Producers cast her on the show, but rather than make her wait the standard four months between the audition and the first taping, they let her tape her first episode only three weeks after the audition.
Unfortunately, her doctors were a bit off on their diagnosis; she died four months after her initial audition.
She didn't live to see her Jeopardy! performance on the air.
Her competitors knew nothing of her condition, thus they didn't go easy on her due to sympathy.
She became a six-time champion, winning $105,803 along the way.
She bequeathed her entire winnings to cancer-fighting charities.
The same week that her Jeopardy! premiere aired, newly-crowned Survivor winner Adam Klein also donated $100K of his winnings to help fight cancer, as his own mother had just died from the disease.
She played Jeopardy! while fighting a fever.
She became the most talked-about Jeopardy! contestant since Ken Jennings was on the program.
