Why he might not be annoying:

He strongly supports stem cell research.

He spoke about Alzheimers disease on a 20/20 new report.

Despite being an atheist, he does practice some of the Buddhist faith and spoke of heaven in his eulogy to his dad.
He blames George W. Bush for being in the pocket of the religious right from hindering scientific advancements in the field of stem cell research and Alzheimer's disease,
Concerning the lack of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, he said: 'What does George W. Bush say? 'Well, I still think they had them.' That's not just spin. That's dementia, you know.'
He told CNN: 'My father was a man; that's the difference between him and Bush.'
He told MSNBC that it was wrong of the Republicans to invoke Ronald Reagan's name to support the war in Iraq. He said: 'This is their war. If they can't stand on their own two feet, they're no Ronald Reagans.'
He said of the Republicans Party: 'I couldn't join a party that, frankly, tolerates members who are bigots for one thing, homophobes, racists.'
He eulogized his father by saying: 'Big as he was, he never tried to make anyone feel small. Powerful as he became, he never took advantage of those who were weaker.'
He proudly said: 'Dad was also a deeply, unabashedly religious man. But he never made the fatal mistake of so many politicians wearing his faith on his sleeve to gain political advantage.'
