Why he might be annoying:

    He was offered a scholarship to the Pratt Institute, but flunked the entrance exam.
    The ‘I Heart New York’ logo is derivative of Robert Indiana’s ‘LOVE.’ (He admitted he may have been subconsciously influenced.)
    The Museum of Modern Art wrote that he became ‘something of a fashionable cult’ in advertising circles.
    He designed the bottle for Trump Vodka, then a decade later designed a ‘Dump Trump’ button.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He gave away the rights to the ‘I Heart New York’ logo.
    The logo earns $30 million a year for the city and state of New York.
    His original sketch of the ‘I Heart New York’ logo is on display at the Museum of Modern Art.
    He designed the interiors of the Rainbow Room and Windows on the World.
    He has been married to Shirley Girton for over sixty years.
    He became the first graphic designer to receive the National Medal of the Arts (2009).
