Outlaw

The Resume

    (August 1947-March 22, 2017)
    Born in Stockbridge, Michigan
    Birth name was Francine Moran
Killed husband James 'Mickey' Hughes by pouring gasoline around his bed and setting it on fire (March 9, 1977)
Acquitted on grounds of temporary insanity (November, 1977)
Portrayed by Farrah Fawcett in the TV movie 'The Burning Bed' (1984)

Why she might be annoying:

She dropped out of high school to marry Mickey.
Although she divorced Mickey, she let him move back in with her and their kids.
After her acquittal, she abused alcohol and speed.
Her second husband, Robert Wilson, was a convicted bank robber.
In a 'People' magazine profile, Wilson described her 'beating the tar out of' her teenaged daughter Nicole, over Nicole's misbehavior.
She blackened both of daughter Christy's eyes in an argument over Christy's boyfriend.
After she yelled, 'You're crazy,' Christy shot back, 'Mama, you've got a lot of room to talk. I didn't commit murder.'

Why she might not be annoying:

She endured thirteen years of abuse from Mickey.
The abuse began on their honeymoon, when Mickey accused her of dressing too provocatively and tore off her clothes.
She earned a GED and enrolled in secretarial school to gain some independence,
The day she killed Mickey, he ripped up her textbooks, forced her to burn them, and demanded that she drop out of school.
She called the police, but the two officers who showed up said there was nothing they could do since they had not witnessed any violence themselves.
After the police left, the beatings resumed, with Mickey threatening her with a knife in front of their children and forcing her to have sex with him.
Incensed that she had called the cops, Mickey told her 'If you think things were bad before, they're going to be worse now.'
After her second marriage, she earned certification as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) and worked in nursing homes and as a private caregiver.
She gave Farrah a chance to show that she had acting chops.
