The Resume

    (June 20, 1968- )
Directed, wrote and produced 'Bed Head (1991),' 'El Mariachi (1992),' 'Desperado (1995),' 'Four Rooms: The Misbehavers (1995),' 'From Dusk Till Dawn (1996),' 'The Faculty (1998),' 'Spy Kids (2001),' 'Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams (2002),' 'Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over (2003)' and 'Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003)'
Wrote the book 'Rebel Without a Crew; Or How a 24 Year Old With $7,000 Became a Hollywood Player (1995)'

Why he might be annoying:

He directed the three 'Spy Kids' movies.
He earned the $7,000 he need to make 'El Mariachi' by subjecting himself to drug studies. One of the experimental drugs that was tested on him was a 'speed healer.' He has two divots in his arms as a result of the removed sample.
He replaced 'El Mariachi' star Carlos Gallardo with Antonio Banderas, to reprise the role of El Mariachi in 'Desperado' and 'Once Upon a Time in Mexico.' Gallardo, in turn, played a bit part in 'Desperado.'
He named his sons Rocket, Racer and Rebel.
He wrote two scripts for Predator 3 but both were shot down by producers. One had the movie set on a 17th century ship and the other one was about Arnold Schwarzenegger's and Danny Glover's characters being taken to the alien planet as trophies.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was ranked number one in 1996's '25 Most Powerful Hispanics in Hollywood.'
    He's Paul Rodriguez' younger brother.
Unlike many directors, he doesn't care too much to make cameo appearances in his movies.
He frequently casts Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Cheech Marin and his cousin, character actor Danny Trejo.
He likes to reward crew members by casting them in bit parts in his films.
He was featured in Premier Magazine's annual power rankings twice. Once in 2002 (ranked 94) and a year later (ranked 80).
He shot 'El Mariachi' on a $7,000 budget and got his cast members to also help behind the scenes.
