The Resume

    (1967-1985)
Band Members: J. (Jerome) Geils-Guitar; Magic Dick (Richard Salwitz)-Harmonica; Danny Klein-Bass; Peter Wolf (Born Peter Blankfield)-Vocals; Stephen Jo Bladd-Drums; Seth Justman-Keyboards
The formation of the band consisted of Geils, Klein, and Magic Dick (J. Geils Blues Band) and Bladd and Wolf (The Hallucinations) which started in 1967
Justman joined the group a year later
Songs included: 'Must Have Got Lost,' 'Freeze Frame,' 'Centerfold,' 'Come Back,' 'Love Stinks,' and 'Give it to Me'
Albums included: 'J. Geils Band,' 'The Morning After,' 'Blow Your Face Out (Live),' 'Monkey Island,' 'Sanctuary,' 'Love Stinks' and 'Freeze Frame'

Why they might be annoying:

Peter Wolf seeking a solo career, split from the group at the height of its popularity.
When the remainder of the band released the album 'You're Getting Even, While I'm Getting Odd,' the album tanked and the band split.
They recorded 'Piss on the Wall' (from the album 'Freeze Frame').
Wolf has a tendency to call his female characters 'bitches' during his monologues on the live albums (Example would be the Adam and Eve monologue before the band played 'Love Stinks' on 'Showtime' (Live) album).
Wolf briefly married and divorced Faye Dunaway.

Why they might not be annoying:

The band mixed blues, jazz, rock, pop, boogie and Motown influences into their music.
Wolf was a disk jockey before he started his musical career.
Wolf was a very dynamic frontman.
At one point, Magic Dick was regarded as one of the best white harmonica players of his era.
Miles Davis was listed as the person who played trumpet on the title track of 'Monkey Island.'
The group's lineup stayed the same through out its existence until Wolf split for a solo career.
They had moderate success until 'Freeze Frame' came out. That album was their breakthrough album.
The band reformed and played in Boston on behalf of the firefighters that died during a warehouse fire (December 1999).
