Why he might be annoying

During the filming of 'Whiplash,' he got into a serious automobile accident.
Also during that same film's production, he also forced Miles Teller to keep drumming until he got really exhausted.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences deemed his script for 'Whiplash' as an Adapted Screenplay because it was based on one of his short films despite being nominated for Original Screenplay at other awards.
He is divorced.
He co-wrote the screenplay to the critically panned 'The Last Exorcism part II (2013).'

At 32 years, 37 days old, he became the youngest Best Director winner in Oscar history.
