    Her alcoholism led to several arrests.
    She divorced actor Don Burnett.
    She was treated for severe depression.
    She attempted suicide several times, including jumping off a bridge, only to be rescued by a passing cab driver.
    On April 20, 1971, she got into an altercation with a meter maid after refusing to pay an additional $0.50 overtime charge.
    In 1957, during an appearance on 'The Steve Allen Show,' she burst into tears when discussing her cancer-stricken mother. Several months later, her mom died from the disease.
    Along with Sophia Loren, she ushered in the era of tall, voluptuous screen goddesses.
    She lost a portion of an index finger in a car accident in July 1971.
