Why Pop-Up Video might be annoying
The sounds of the bubbles popping up interrupted the music.
Some of the trivia has little if any connection to the video being shown.
The producers worked dirty jokes into a high percentage of the videos.
Videos by Billy Joel, The Police and The Wallflowers were pulled from rotation after the artists complained.
VH-1 continued to list it as part of their roster years after they stopped showing it regularly.
Why Pop-Up Video might not be annoying
Some singers, including Joan Osborne and Paula Abdul, like their 'popped' videos so much, they appeared on the show to provide additional info.
It often provides interesting insights into how the videos were produced.
It was VH-1's top rated series for two years until it was overtaken by Behind the Music in 1998.
Several DVDs, such as 'Spider Man' and 'Back to the Future,' allow you to watch the movie with Pop-Up Video style factoids.
