    (1940- )
    Born in Hampton, Arkansas
Birth name is Harry Z. Thomason
    Film and Television producer/director
With wife, Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, created, produced, and directed the TV series 'Lime Street,' 'Emeril,' Designing Women, 'Evening Shade,' 'Hearts Afire,' and 'Women of the House'
Produced the Bill Clinton campaign film 'The Man from Hope,' aired at the Democratic National Convention (1992)
Directed the documentary, 'The Last Ride' (2011)
Formed Mozark Productions with his wife (1986)
He and his wife named their Production Company by combining the abbreviations for their two home states to make one word.
He and his wife have been unapologetic shills for Bill and Hillary Clinton since the early-1980s. Together, they produced the Pro-Clinton pieces, 'The Man from Hope' and 'The Hunting of the President.'
He was put under investigation during the 'Travelgate' scandal for allegedly pressing the Clintons to fire key personnel with the White House Travel Office (1993).
He and his wife regularly figured their liberal bias and Pro-Clinton agenda onto their shows, particularly with their most popular program, Designing Women (even having the characters fly to the Clinton Presidential Inauguration in 1993).
He was eventually phased out by the Clintons by the mid-1990s. The Thomasons retaliated by taking shots at the Clinton Administration on their new show, 'Women of the House.'
He testified before the Lewinsky Grand Jury for President Clinton over the allegations of perjury and sexual misconduct.
He and his wife had a very public feud with Delta Burke and her husband over allegations of workplace harassment about her weight on the 'Designing Women' set (creating tabloid heaven for the press).
During one heated incident, Burke claimed that he 'physically blocked my way from the door until he decided to allow me to leave,' only letting up when he found out her husband was on his way to the studio.
Gerald McRaney defended his wife by releasing a statement to the press directed at the Thomasons saying 'every time they make another public statement they say that they 'wish this could end.' Well, if you want it ended, shut up.'
He put an end to the feud by firing Burke after the show's fifth season (the show's quality suffered and it was eventually cancelled).
He and his wife were both High School teachers (of Science and English, respectively).
His skills as a documentarian have received high praise.
He produced a well-received documentary on Hank Williams.
He served as co-chairman of the 1992 Presidential Inauguration Committee.
He was welcomed back into the Clintons' good graces with open arms when the President needed a media-savvy personality to conduct damage control during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
His HBO series with Lily Tomlin received rave reviews but became a casualty of the 2008 Writers' Strike when it was cancelled after only 6 episodes.
Between 1988 and 1992, Designing Women ranged between #25 and #6 in the Nielsen ratings, averaging over 15 Million viewers at its peak.
He lost his mother to Breast Cancer and lost his mother-in-law to AIDS.
