    (December 18, 1934-June 26, 2013)
    Born in Antwerp, Belgium
Birth name was Marc David Reich
    International commodities trader
Fled the US for Switzerland after being indicted (1983)
Received a controversial pardon from President Bill Clinton (January 20, 2001)
He was indicted by Rudy Guiliani on charges of tax evasion and illegally trading with Iran during the hostage crisis.
Since his ex-wife Denise made large contributions to the Democratic Party and the Clinton library, there were allegations she had bought Marc's pardon.
Scooter Libby also lobbied Clinton on Rich's behalf.
While in exile in Switzerland, he became increasingly reclusive.
It is unclear if he gave up his US citizenship.
His family immigrated to the US to escape the Nazi occupation of Europe.
He made many donations to Israeli charities, prompting Prime Minister Ehud Barak to petition for clemency.
Clinton justified his pardon by noting that tax experts at Harvard Law School and the Georgetown Law Center concluded Rich had not committed tax evasion.
