Why she might be annoying:

Cross Charlotte Church with Chelsea Clinton, and you might get her.
By age 11, she had some 40 stage appearances under her belt — many in male parts.
You might also have seen her way back on ‘American Dreams,’ performing ‘Who Painted the Moon Black?’ (Yes, that song, on a show set in the Kennedy era, was hers.)
Curiously, the summary box on her Wikipedia page lists only ‘vocals’ as her instrument — and yet the same page credits her with having learned to play four others (hint: these two combine to play them).

Why she might not be annoying:

Her debut CD (she was 12) was a demo created originally for friends and relations; she and her sister became buskers to promote it.
In only the UK, just over 19,000 copies of ‘Pure’ – her international debut, in 2003 – were sold that first week alone. It went on to go 12 times platinum.
Because she claims to have trouble getting appropriate nutrition on tour, she learned not to be a strict vegetarian.
Among the world’s UNICEF ambassadors, only Selena Gomez is younger.
She sings in no fewer than nine different languages — including Maori.
Her voice has a faint but definite trace of accent.
