Why she might be annoying:

Wendy's fired her when she did a Prego spaghetti sauce commercial. She said 'I found it,' (implying the answer to 'Where's the Beef?') and Wendy's took that as a slap in the face (1985).
She was less the 5'.
She was hard of hearing, so people would tug on her skirt when it was time for her to recite her line.

Why she might not be annoying:

Her catch phrase 'Where's the Beef?' vaulted her to national fame.
Walter Mondale used the phrase in his presidential campaign (1984).
Wendy's sales rose 31% in one year during the run of the commercial.
Her ad is the #1 advertisement as ranked in the USA Today's TV commercial hall of fame.
The other two women in the commercial, Mildred Lane and Elizabeth Shaw never came close to the popularity of Clara.
She earned $½ million for the Wendy commercials.
